A fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor, registered with the Driving Standards Agency, Derek has extensive experience as a trainer and holds the Adult & Further Education Teacher's Certificate(7307). He also has a current enhanced clearance certificate from the Criminal Records Bureau.

He is patient, reliable and friendly, and especially welcomes nervous students.

Driving lessons will be tailored to suit your individual learning needs; this means moving at your pace. Of course, some will progress quicker than others, but you will all get there!

Help and advice will be given during the course of normal lessons to prepare you for the Driving Theory and Hazard Perception tests. Extra tuition can be arranged if required.

If you are paying for someone to teach you to drive, they MUST, by law, be approved and registered with the Driving Standards Agency. A fully qualified driving instructor will display a GREEN certificate on the windscreen. A driving instructor displaying a PINK certificate is a trainee. Is your driving instructor qualified ?

To qualify, a driving instructor must pass a rigorous three part test of driving theory, driving ability and instructional ability. The pass rate on part three is less than 30%! It is estimated that out of every 100 who start the training only 5 qualify.
